About Horringer Community Centre

Horringer Community Centre is situated near the church, with direct access (signposted) off the A143.

The Community Centre is managed by Horringer Community Council and is available for private and public functions (including commercial events). It can be hired by local residents and those living outside the village.  Examples of usage include meetings, lectures, indoor sport classes, wedding receptions, private parties, dances, exhibitions and commercial events.

Here is a summary of our facilities:

  • Main Hall including stage available to hire (Maximum capacity 170 for dance, 155 if seated audience or 120 for sit down meal)
  • Committee Room available to hire (Maximum capacity 12)
  • Kitchen facilities
  • Toilet facilities
  • Disabled facilities, including excellent wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities
  • PA sound system (with hearing loop), including microphones
  • Parking for approximately 50 cars
  • Licensed for:-
    • Performance of plays
    • Showing films
    • Indoor sporting events (suitable events)
    • Performance of live music
    • Playing of recorded music
    • Performance of dance
    • Making music
    • Dancing
    • Provision of hot food/drink
    • The sale of alcohol (this can only be supplied via our designated bar services)

  1. We have lived in many villages but Horringer Community Centre is by far the best we have experienced. Clean, tidy, well equipped kitchen, logistics ideal for a social function with good sized stage and the new variable lighting is excellent. Villagers feel a sense of ownership immediately they walk in.
